Fiat

Fiat Auto Locksmith

We are able to cut and program Fiat keys and remote fobs for ALL THE VEHICLES ACROSS THE ENTIRE RANGE. Not only this, we come to you and do it!

CALL RIGHT NOW FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Extra key(s) or fob required
  • Lost or stolen keys
  • Broken keys / keys broke in lock
  • Keys locked in car
  • Faulty or defective locks

FROM 1995 all Fiat vehicles use transponder keys as pictured above (including remote fobs also).

Up to 1995 Fiat key’s were non – chipped. Therefore making new keys for Fiat’s pre 1995 is much more straight forward. Even with lost key situations, we’ll have you up and running in no time at all.

Transponder keys were developed because only when the vehicle receives a certain unique code from the transponder inside the key will it be allowed to start. Thus, increasing vehicle security greatly.

The first transponder (or ‘chip’) used in Fiat’s was known as a fixed code Megamos or Philips type (or T5). This was used up to around 1999, although some Fiat’s used this type up 2002.

Making new keys for this type of chip is very straight forward and takes a matter of minutes, providing you have a working key to begin with (a worn or broken key may take a while longer, but not a big problem).

If you have lost all keys this is much more specialised for reasons discussed below and will take around a couple of hours to complete.

FROM 1999 starting with the Fiat Punto, Fiat’s enhanced vehicle security further by using chips with rolling codes or ‘crypto chips’ known as megamos type 48 (or T6’s). This was to ensure that new keys could only be ordered through the dealers, however this is NOT still the case.

FIAT KEYS are quite unique as the crypto chips they use, contain special chassis specific data on them, making them the most difficult to make new keys. This basically means even the dealers have to order keys direct from the head factory in Italy, which is specific to your and only your vehicle.

THE DEALERS TAKE A WEEK TO OBTAIN THESE KEYS. THEN the small matter of taking the vehicle to them for programming (not very convenient or economical if you’ve lost all keys!)

NOT ANY MORE! At Demob Locksmith’s we have the software, vast experience and expertise to overcome these special transponders by using a technique known as eeprom work. The vehicle specific key data previously mentioned and security codes are extracted from the vehicles ECU or immobilser and then written to the transponder).

What this means to you is that rather than taking it to the dealers and waiting a week for the key to arrive, how about we come to you and get the job done in a couple of hours, even in ‘ lost key situations’.

REMOTE KEY FOBS: If you’re after a remote central locking fob (even if you don’t have one at present then we can provide this for you (providing the vehicle came with one when new).

KEYS LOCKED INSIDE? Amongst other ways of this happening, many cars will self-lock if left unlocked (often after just a minute!) as a security measure. Using non-destructive techniques we can get into your vehicle and get you up and running again, even outside office hours! Call us immediately.

BROKEN KEYS / KEY BROKE IN LOCK? Key extraction service available. Don’t stress, help is only a phone call away. Keys when keys are badly broken / worn down, solutions are at hand.

STOLEN KEYS: Had a key, or your only key stolen? If one’s gone missing or you’re unsure if someone else may have a copy then we can get this key deactivated from the vehicles memory , ensuring YOUR CAR STAYS IN YOUR HANDS! Lock changes or even re-coding existing locks where possible are also services we provide on site. Fiat Auto Locksmith
